Feats at every boss

October 14, 2026 · 14:59

From Herne's Oak to the Keep, every boss now has feats to earn.

Feats

  • Every boss has five or six feats: kill it so many times, kill it once in a particular way, or kill it so many times in one run
  • Each feat is a boast, a tale, a song, a saga or a chronicle, worth 1 to 5 points
  • A kill that earns a feat says so in your history
  • Kills you have already made count toward a feat that asks for a number of kills, and it is earned at your next kill of that boss
  • When you hold every feat of a tier, the world chat says so, and says so again if new feats join that tier and you complete it again

Character

  • A new Feats view shows your points and tiers, how far you are with each feat, the run you are on, and what to change in your gear, potions or elixirs to try one
  • The Ledger shows how much of each section you have found, and has a Find box
  • Each view under Character opens with a line saying what it holds

Reference

  • Each boss's page lists its feats, what each asks and how many players hold it
  • How feats work explains tiers, points and runs, and lists every feat

Profiles and leaderboards

  • Profiles show a character's feats, its points and how many of each tier it holds
  • The leaderboards have a board for points from feats

Privacy

  • The privacy page now lists feats and their points among what anybody can see, and a tier of feats completed among the news about your character in the world chat

Ore, cloth and wood come from gathering

October 12, 2026 · 21:23

From the Rotmaw to the Keep, monsters now drop hides but no ore, cloth or wood.

Drops

  • Monsters no longer drop ore, cloth or wood. Each is gathered at a node, and its page in the reference says where
  • Hides still drop, from the same monsters at the same rates
  • No other drop rate has changed
  • The Unbound sigil still drops from Corvane
  • Ore, cloth and wood you already hold are kept

Deliveries

  • A tavern asks you for ore, cloth or wood only once your gathering level works its node

Beaten bosses on treasure trails

October 11, 2026 · 23:24

A treasure trail can now send you back to a boss you have already beaten.

Treasure trails

  • Where the zones of a trail's band hold a boss you have already killed, the trail's last kill step may ask you to kill that boss once
  • The more bosses you have killed in a band's zones, the more often its trails ask for one
  • A boss you have never killed is never asked for

Treasure trail finds in the world chat

October 11, 2026 · 19:52

The world chat now tells everybody the first time a player finds each treasure trail find.

Treasure trails

  • The first time you find each find in a casket, the world chat says so
  • A find you have had before is not told again

Privacy

  • The privacy page now lists a treasure trail's find among the news about your character that signed-in players see in chat

Treasure trails, for every level

October 11, 2026 · 15:51

Treasure trails have been added, for every level.

Treasure trails

  • Winning fights sometimes turns up a note, about one every three hours of fighting
  • Your first note comes for certain on the fight that takes your combat to 10, or to your next level if you are already past it
  • Each band of combat levels has its own note: a scrap, a folded note, a sealed letter, a waxed map and a gilded writ
  • A note comes from a band you have opened, and you can hold one unread note of each kind
  • Read a note on the Here tab to start its trail: three to five steps in the zones of its band, shown one at a time
  • A step sends you somewhere, or asks you to kill ten of something there. Going somewhere is done when your walk ends there
  • The walk that finishes the last step opens a casket of coins and one find
  • Abandoning a trail loses the note

The Ledger

  • A new Trails section holds thirty finds, six for each kind of note

Reference

  • How trails work explains notes, steps and caskets, and lists every find

Herne's Oak, the Footings and the Lych-house

October 10, 2026 · 21:26

Three new bosses have been added, each in a room of its own, and each drops a new necklace.

New bosses

  • Herne's Oak — a room down inside the oak in Greenglade, for combat 10. Herne the Hunter waits there, and fights ranged
  • The Footings — a room beneath Cindergate, for combat 30. The Mortared Man was walled into it, and fights magic
  • The Lych-house — a room at the end of the Gallowsway, for combat 56. The Lych-warden keeps it, and fights magic

New jewellery

  • Herne's horn — a necklace for level 10, from Herne the Hunter at 1 in 1,000
  • The mason's plumb — a necklace for level 28, from the Mortared Man at 1 in 1,000
  • The Lych-bell — a necklace for level 52, from the Lych-warden at 1 in 1,000

Pets

  • Herne the Hunter, the Mortared Man and the Lych-warden each have one: the Leveret, the Wall lizard and the Gallows bat

Delivery notices at every tavern

October 10, 2026 · 19:20

Every tavern now posts a delivery notice, for every level.

Taverns

  • Every tavern now posts a delivery notice beside its three contracts
  • A delivery asks for about a queue's worth of one material gathered or hunted near the board, and pays half again what a vendor would
  • It only asks for what your own levels let you gather or hunt
  • It is filled from your bag on the spot. It is not a contract, does not touch your contract streak, and shows while you carry one
  • Filling one posts the next. Your count is on the tavern page

Profiles and leaderboards

  • Profiles show how many deliveries a character has filled
  • The leaderboards have a board for deliveries filled, apart from contracts

Privacy

  • The privacy page now lists deliveries filled among what anybody can see

Reference

  • How contracts work now explains deliveries

Switching off the Chat tab's count

October 09, 2026 · 22:57

The Chat tab's count of new lines can now be switched off from your account page.

Account

  • Your account page has a new Settings section
  • Untick "Count new chat lines on the Chat tab" to stop the count. The game then keeps no note in your browser of the last line you read

Privacy

  • The privacy page now says that when a letter is reported, the other letters between the same two players in the two weeks either side of it may be read too, and that each time they are read is recorded

Reporting a player, and the rules

October 09, 2026 · 13:57

You can now report a chat line, a letter or a player, and the game has a page of rules and a page about your privacy.

Chat

  • Each line has a menu behind the three dots at its end, which works on phones as well as with a mouse. Mute and Report are in it
  • Opening the menu highlights the line it is for
  • Web addresses can no longer be posted in chat or in letters

Reporting

  • Report a chat line from its menu, a letter from your mailbox, or a player from their profile
  • Choose what is wrong, add a note if you like, and you see a page saying it was sent
  • Anybody without an account can report a problem by email, from the link at the bottom of the public pages

Rules and privacy

  • A rules page says what is not allowed, what happens when a rule is broken, and how to appeal or complain
  • A privacy page says what the game keeps about you, who else handles it, and for how long
  • Both are linked from sign-in, sign-up and the bottom of the public pages
  • A banned player's name is no longer shown anywhere in the game

Bandages, and a better start for new players

October 07, 2026 · 18:22

Some changes to help new players find their feet, and bandages for anybody levelling combat without the alchemy to brew their own healing.

Potions and bandages do different jobs. A potion is drunk for you in a fight, the moment your health runs low. A bandage is never used in a fight: use it between fights, or after a death, and it heals over 20 seconds.

New players

  • New characters start wearing a club and a cuirass, and carry three minor healing potions
  • Characters still near the start who were wearing nothing have been given the same club and cuirass, and potions up to three where their bag has room
  • The advice on the Here tab is one short line that changes with what you are doing: what to make next, where its parts come from, where to make it, and where to wear it
  • Places and buttons named in that line are links. They open the right tab and circle what you need, but never press it for you
  • Hurt with no bandage, the line says where the nearest bandage is sold. Out of potions, it says where the nearest potions are

Bandages

  • Ten bandages, from minor to supreme, are sold by vendors in the towns for their level
  • Each heals as much as the potion brewed at the same level, over 20 seconds, out of a fight
  • Use one from your bag. It is a task like any other, so it can be queued between fights, and Stop keeps what it has healed so far
  • A bandage that comes up when you are already at full health is skipped and stays in your bag

Combat

  • Dying now tells you where you wake, how long you are weakened, and how many queued tasks were cancelled
  • You can no longer drink a potion from your bag at full health

Reference

  • A Bandages section, and the combat page explains when each kind of healing is used
  • Things a vendor sells are listed at their price, not at what a vendor pays for them
