A second character in Account

October 19, 2026 · 19:17

Account, under the More tab, now makes a second character without leaving the game, and the page that names your first one is the same page.

Account, under More

  • Create another character opens the naming page here, without leaving the game
  • A refused name is said at the top of the screen, and the box is empty again
  • A new character starts on Here

The naming page

  • With no character yet, the links along the top are Account, Leaderboards, Reference, News and Name your character

With no character

  • Account offers Name your character, and Unmute works
  • A profile offers no Mute, Report or Ban

Clearer level labels

October 19, 2026 · 11:59

Level labels in the bag, the workbench, the enchanting bench and on the map now say what each level is for, so they are less easy to mistake for one another.

Your bag

  • Gear you are not high enough level to wear says so in place of the Wear button
  • A level shown beside an item now says whether it is the level to wear it, use it or break it down

Here, the workbench and the enchanting bench

  • A node, recipe or enchant out of reach says it is the level to gather, make or enchant it

The map and the reference

  • A locked zone says it is the level to enter it

How to play

October 17, 2026 · 18:16

The reference has a guide for new players.

Reference

  • How to play: the game in a few minutes, from gathering, crafting and fighting to the tabs, healing, enchanting, contracts, trading and duels
  • The reference links to it first

Minor potions in the early towns

October 17, 2026 · 13:24

Minor healing potions are now sold only in the towns below level 20.

Vendors

  • Lastlight, Lanternfell, Tallowhearth and Wickmere no longer sell minor healing potions
  • Lucerna, Candlemere, Ironspire, Silvenwood, Aldenfield and Rushlight still sell them
  • Every vendor that sold bandages still sells them

Alchemy

  • From combat level 20, brew your own potions at the apothecary in Lastlight

Hallowe'en, and eight more events

October 17, 2026 · 11:20

Hallowe'en is on across the world until 31 October, and eight more events now come round through the year.

Hallowe'en

  • Hallowe'en is on now, until 31 October: carved turnips turn up while you fight or work, about one an hour

Events

  • Wassail, 11 to 24 January: wassail cups
  • Frost Fair, 1 to 14 February: bone skates
  • Spring Equinox, 14 to 27 March: river stones
  • Beltane, 25 April to 8 May: maypole ribbons
  • Midsummer, 15 to 28 June: will-o'-the-wisp lanterns
  • Tourney, 1 to 14 August: tourney pennants
  • Harvest Home, 1 to 14 October: corn dollies
  • Midwinter, 14 to 27 December: frost-fir crowns
  • Each turns up about one an hour while you fight or work, and comes round on the same dates every year
  • Each find is a keepsake, kept on the Keepsakes page of the Ledger

Two new guides in the reference

October 17, 2026 · 10:30

The reference has two new guides, to travel and to trading.

Reference

  • How travel works: how long a road takes, which places your level lets you through, what Stop does, and where the taverns are
  • How trading works: how offers at the auction house are matched, the fee, what vendors buy and sell, and what the bag and the bank hold
  • The XP table's page says less about why the curve is shaped as it is

Front page

  • The front page names a seasonal event while it is on, and says more about bosses, pets, feats, contracts and trails

Light or dark

October 17, 2026 · 08:29

The game can be read light or dark, or follow whatever your device is set to.

Settings

  • The game can be read light or dark, or follow what your device is set to
  • Light or dark is under Settings on your account page, in the More tab
  • Pages outside the game have the same choice at the top right
  • The choice is kept in the browser you make it in

Privacy

  • The privacy page lists the cookie that remembers light or dark

The More tab

October 15, 2026 · 21:29

The game has a new tab, More, holding your account, the leaderboards, the reference and the news; the status bar is laid out anew, and the fight log stays in it.

More

  • A new tab, More, after Travel, holds your account, the leaderboards, the reference and the news, inside the game with the status bar and the world chat
  • A link to your account, the leaderboards, a player, the reference or the news opens it under More
  • The address of any of those pages opens the game on it, under More
  • Pressing the view under More you are reading again goes back to its first page
  • Every page under More but a view's first has a Back link at the top, which goes back one page within that view
  • The privacy notice, the rules and reporting open under More, in Account
  • Each view under More opens with a line saying what it holds
  • The leaderboards and the news have shorter introductions
  • Opening the news under More puts out the word news in the status bar at once
  • The row of links under the game is gone
  • On phones the tabs are narrower

Other pages

  • Making another character shows the status bar at the top, with the game's tabs
  • A tab there takes you back into the game on that tab

Leaderboards

  • Profile is no longer a link of its own; the leaderboards name you at the top, linked to your profile

Status bar

  • Your potions, coins, mail, news and the marks for the auction house, contracts and challenges sit together at the top right of the status bar
  • Your name, health and health bar sit under them, above your task, with whoever you are fighting beside them
  • On a wide screen your combat level shows beside your name, and the level of whoever you are fighting beside theirs; on a phone neither shows
  • Your health bar burns when your health is low
  • The message after you act drops in over the top of the status bar, above your task, and nothing below it moves when it comes or goes
  • A × on the message puts it away
  • A challenge you sent waits as faded crossed swords in the status bar, and a tap says who you are waiting on
  • There is no gap above the status bar, and on a wide screen the world chat lines up with it
  • Your health in the status bar climbs as it comes back, without waiting for a task to finish
  • A tap on your task's name shows the whole of it
  • A tap on an effect shows how big it is

Fight log

  • The fight log is called Fight log, and is always in the status bar, open or shut as you left it
  • The fight log runs on from fight to fight, keeping the last 50 lines, and says who won each fight
  • Each swing in the fight log ends with its target's health
  • The fight log is four lines tall, and follows the newest
  • Scrolling the fight log up a line to reread it no longer jumps back down

What happened

  • A fight is one line, like everything else; its rounds are in the fight log

Reference

  • Trade this on an item's page shows only at the auction house, in Lucerna, and opens it on the Here tab, whichever tab you last had open
  • A zone's page has On your map, which opens Travel and rings the zone, or the way in or out when the zone is on another map

Travel

  • A link to a place on another map rings the way in or out on yours, and says which

News

  • The news shows ten posts a page, with older and newer news at the foot
  • A post's title is the same size on its own page as in the list
  • The first post sits closer under the top

Taverns

  • The place a contract names opens Travel and rings it on the map

Auction house

  • The search no longer repeats a name it cannot find

Profiles

  • Duels show the whole pot and the hour

Mail

  • Screen readers say which letters are new

Chat

  • A line's time no longer shows the date when you hover over it

Privacy

  • The privacy page now lists the view you last chose under More among the choices kept in cookies
